Summer Sky

© AnnHoffpauir
This little western scene was painted while I was out in the Texas Hill Country.  There were cattle way out in the pasture and the sky was bright with some scattered clouds.  I could not see the cattle very well, so I just suggested them in the scene.

Some Wranglers

© AnnHoffpauir
This painting was created from reference photos taken while attending a cattle round-up.  The cowboys were bringing the cattle in for their bi-annual shots, worming and that oily stuff for flies.  It was a long hot day but well worth it.

Heading'em Home

© AnnHoffpauir

This western painting was done when the fog is just above the ground and streaks of it are going across the trees, usually early morning.  I wanted to create a sence of stillness and quiet in the scene. The only sounds you hear are the plodding on the horse and the cows.  The birds aren't even chirping yet.  The cows got out of their pasture and the cowboy set out early to look for them and bring them back.  The fog is slowly lifting.  There seems to be a chill in the air.

Majestic Longhorns

© AnnHoffpauir
These Longhorns are one of my favorite paintings and it sold quickly.  These particular longhorn cattle were in the Austin, Texas area.  We were on a long weekend trip and these longhorns were in a pasture close to the road.  It was a bright sunny day and I think I captured how I felt like the cattle looked in the open pasture in the bright sun, majestic.  Western art is one of my favorite subjects to paint.  If you own longhorns or know someone that does and would like a painting of one send me a comment or email me.  Visit my website at

Livestock Landscape Oil Painting "Bovine Brunch" 12x10 by Texas Oil Painter and American Artist, Lynn LaRose

I live down the street from a dairy farm. "Bovine Brunch" is  portrait of the 'ladies' who I see often on my way to town. I consider them my neighbors and friends as they have politely posed for many of my paintings.

12x10 Original Oil on Canvas Panel

Price:  $600 (framed)

Stand Off by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Stand Off by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Cow painting on 6x6 canvas panel. I really love the loose stroke of color on this one.
It is really nice and I so want to keep it for myself but I won't of course.
