Original Colorado Landscape Painting With Sheep "A Fine Day in Meeker" by Colorado Artist Nancee Jean Busse, Painter of the American West

The high desert of western Colorado is beautiful! Meeker, Colorado hosts an impressive annual event; the Meeker International Sheepdog Trials. Border collies and their handlers come from all over the world to compete for a grand prize. The dogs are amazing! I love painting this event! Original Colorado Landscape Painting "The Coming Rain" by Nancee Jean Busse, Painter of the American West

We live at the foot of the Colorado National Monument. This beautiful summer morning held the  promise of rain. I loved the contrast of the sunny canyon walls with the heavy gray clouds behind  them.
